Project Title: The Pathways of Life
Client: Group 352
Project Type: Storyboard and Oversized Book Design
Year: 2022
Description:
The Pathways of Life is a modern retelling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood tale, crafted into a visually stunning oversized book for a unique storytelling experience. This project reimagines Little Red as she embarks on a journey to her grandmother's house, guided by her mother's warning to stay on the path and avoid shortcuts. Despite the advice, Red ventures off-course, leading to unexpected twists that resonate with themes of choice and consequence.
This creative endeavor combined photography, graphic design, and meticulous storytelling to breathe life into Little Red’s world. Using live photos as a foundation, I designed compelling visuals that immerse readers in the tale's charm and depth, blending traditional and modern design elements to bring the narrative to life.
Creative Approach:
The design process began with photo editing in Adobe Photoshop, enhancing live images to evoke the whimsical and foreboding atmosphere of the story. Adobe Illustrator was then used to craft intricate visual elements that complemented the narrative, from stylized forest scenes to character details. Finally, Adobe InDesign brought all components together in a cohesive layout for the oversized book, ensuring a seamless flow of visuals and text to captivate readers.
